You Can Help the Berkeley County Humane Society
membership | donations
Our shelter is a private, not-for-profit organization that does not receive any city,
county, state, or federal funding. Eight percent of our operating cost is subsidized by
the United Way of Berkeley and Morgan Counties. The shelter relies on private
donations, bequests and fundraising activities for the other 92% of its operating
budget. Without local support, the shelter would not exist.
Our activities committee organizes many fund-raisers throughout the year. Volunteers
and shelter staff members also assist in our fund-raising efforts. All help with fund-raising is greatly
appreciated!
Our staff is available to visit area schools to teach the children about humane
education and pet care.
Come out and visit with our staff. Your words of appreciation and
encouragement are most welcome!
